Welcome to my new website

Yo what’s good, I’m Marcus, welcome to my new website – Staples King (dotcom). For two decades I had the pleasure of watching one of the greatest NBA basketball players of all time -Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant – DOMINATE inside the Staple Center Los Angeles.Kobe Bryant Image

As crazy as it may sound, in some strange way, Kobe’s influence on me has helped me see things in a much different way and has also helped me turn my life around in many ways. I have to say, just watching this man over the years and his insane work ethic, crazy determination to be the best, and the way he has crafted his lethal skillset… What can I say? The man is raw.

The Backstory.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It’s the summer of 1996… I’m just a no good, troublemaking, life going nowhere fast, 16-year-old knucklehead living life in Southern California.

It’s hot as fuck outside, I’m out with the boys, we’re chasing girls, looking for shit to do when we finally end up at “Big Ray’s” …

4 hours later we’ll still sippin’ on shit – smokin’ mad muthafuckin’ blunts – slowly passing out – when on pops the TV.

“With the 13th overall pick, the Charlotte Hornets select… Kobe Bryant.”

“Kobe Who?”

… “I don’t know man, I’m just glad he’s  going to Charlotte and not to our Lakers, son.”

(Too bad I didn’t know the Lakers had Charlotte’s draft pick and were pulling the strings behind the scenes the whole damn time man.)

Also, little did I know my life would change forever from that moment on. I mean, watching Kobe all these years; his drive, determination, work ethic, sickness for being great (consistently over the last 20 years). I truly believe has helped catapult my life to great heights of success and abundance I never previously dreamt possible.

So – throughout this website – I want t0 share some great Kobe moments throughout his career and also a small portion of the wisdom, motivation, and inspiration I took from watching one of the best ever to rock the purple and gold!

20 straight years dominating the court inside Staples Center. So YO! Let’s take a look at some of his best and brightest moments. So sit back, grab a cold one, and let’s get started.
